Between Lyon and Saint Etienne : the Monts du Lyonnais

Between Lyon and Saint Etienne: the Monts du Lyonnais located between the departments of Loire and Rhône are a territory of choice for lovers of the great outdoors. Hiking, biking (road and path), horse or on foot will make you discover landscapes and views allowing you to see up to Mont Blanc.

There are remarkable villages like Saint Symphorien-sur-Coise which is classified « One of the Most Beautiful Detours in France ». But also Riverie, a medieval village classified as « Small cities of character« . On the GR7, you will often cross the ridge but you will cross remarkable sites such as the small village of Rochefort.

You can also discover fortified villages, country heritage and Roman aqueducts of Gier which are the strong points of the municipalities around Mornant. Here, you can discover the wines of Coteaux du Lyonnais classified as PDO. But also the cradle of vine fishing in the town of Soucieu-en-Jarrest.
